education for teachers

Teachers' Proficiency Pilates Program

PILATISTIC is the only center of education in Europe to hold international certificates The Work™ and
Teaching the Work™, otorgated by Jay Grimes, and The Red Thread® by Kathryn Ross-Nash.

PILATISTIC Teachers’ Proficiency Pilates Program is a master’s degree for certified teachers, one year in duration, which aims to provide a deep understanding of the Method and offer an integral learning of all exercises and apparatus. Under the direction of teachers of teachers Marian Tarín and Miguel Jorge, the students-instructors will obtain the necessary tools to perfect the trainings according to the needs of each client. Once the 5 SECTIONS of the program have been completed a diploma will be awarded.

The program is based on the methodology that Joseph H. Pilates used to convey his knowledge to the students who frequented his studio on 8th Avenue in New York. It is imperative to internalize the entire repertoire of exercises in the body of oneself through practice and to understand the depth of each movement in order to teach effectively. Pilates is a functional method that must be applied with logic and thus respect its main objective: EDUCATE the client. Throughout the apprenticeship, the students-instructors should perfect the execution of the exercises in all the apparatus of the Method and, with the knowledge acquired through practice, improve their teaching skills.

This program is open to certified instructors at any of the many Pilates schools. However, all applicants must meet the following requirements: (1)provide a Comprehensive Pilates Certificate and (2)a minimum of 2 years experience.
It is strongly advisable to prepare with private lessons and Online Workshops taught periodically by the directors of PILATISTIC to become familiar with the technique and fundamentals of PILATISTIC Old School Pilates. In previous years, candidates interested in training at PILATISTIC were planned several months in advance.

Teachers' Meeting Days

Teachers’ Meeting Days are gatherings of instructors, organized quarterly (always on Saturdays), which main goal is to share the philosophy of PILATISTIC with the rest of the community. At these meetings, Marian Tarín and Miguel Jorge teach workshops that offer an integrative and open approach to the Method. These are ideal sessions for instructors who seek to perfect their teaching and deepen the comprehension of the system. These seminars are very useful tools for those professionals interested in preparing the access exam for the PILATISTIC Teachers’ Proficiency Program.

The value of these meetings is 120€/per student and their duration is 3 hours. The dates of the upcoming Teachers’ Meeting Days are in March 28, July 11 and October 17, 2020. Find out the theme of the next meeting by sending an email to info@pilatistic.com.

Private Lessons

Private Lessons are one-to-one sessions, 50-55 minutes long, for certified instructors only. In these private lessons, the student receives personalized corrections and modifications, depending on their particular needs. These private lessons are the best option to prepare the access exam for PILATISTIC teachers’ program. In addition, the selected instructors taking the master, will use these personal trainings to review and perfect the execution of all the exercises in all the apparatus.

The price of these individual workouts is 80€.

Teachers' Classes

Teachers’ Classes are small group sessions where certified instructors train independently with other professionals in the Pilates community. Under the direction of a PILATISTIC teacher, practitioners focused on their personalized workouts will be caught up in the energy of the rest of the athletes in the class. These stimulating sessions, based on the way Joe taught his classes, foster confidence and self-sufficiency through a deeper understanding of the traditional Method.
They are taught on Mondays, at 5:00 p.m. and on Thursdays at 11 a.m. and have a value of 42€/ per student.
